UP TO FIVE (5) SUMMER INTERNSHIPS FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

This Summer Internship Programme offers University Students in their penultimate year of study, as well as postgraduates intending to continue their studies, the opportunity to participate in a short-term internship of (up to three months).

The Programme starts with a brief induction, where you will get an overview of our main service lines, develop valuable business skills, grow your network and enjoy exciting team-building activities. Following the Induction programme, the successful candidate will join a team in one of our Functions. You will have a mentor responsible for assigning tasks and guiding you throughout your internship time. Your mentor will be providing you with constructive feedback and will also give an overall evaluation of your performance to the Human Resource team, at the end of the programme.

In our Summer Internship Programme you will have the chance to gain hands-on work experience and an insight into life and work at ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, Limassol Cyprus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new skills, learn from a team of highly skilled professionals and get inspired to choose your career path after graduating.

ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence is an autonomous Centre of Excellence with Cyprus University of Technology as its sole stakeholder, specialising in earth observation, space technology and geospatial analysis. Cyprus University of Technology has experience in earth observations and geospatial analysis since 2007. Through the “EXCELSIOR” H2020 Teaming Project (https://excelsior2020.eu/), ERATOSTHENES CoE aspires to become a Digital Innovation Hub for Earth Observation and Geospatial Information by offering knowledge, responsible research, open innovation and application services capable of sustaining Cyprus’ development. ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence aspires to actively contribute to the European Research Area (ERA) priorities in Atmosphere and Climate, Resilient Societies and Big Earth Data Analytics, as well as to become the reference Earth Observation/Geoinformation Centre for research and innovation in the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and North Africa (EMMENA) region.

A core activity of ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence is to conduct high calibre, state-of-the-art research, both basic and applied. A central task is to acquire research funding for the Centre, to provide facilities to the researchers, and to support them to acquire funding for their research independently and via international and local collaborations. Collaborations with industrial partners are particularly encouraged and facilitated.

Description of the Position

Successful interns will support the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence’s
activities by undertaking various tasks based on operational needs. This hands-on experience will provide valuable exposure to research, innovation, and administrative functions within a leading Centre of Excellence. The internship is an excellent opportunity for students to develop skills, gain practical experience, and contribute to impactful projects in a collaborative environment.

The duration for the internships will be for a maximum of three (3) months in the period June - September 2026 and the maximum monthly gross salary will be €900 for full-time employment.

Interested candidates must have a good knowledge of English and submit their application comprising of the documents listed below not later than Friday 24 April 2026 at 14.00 CYPRUS TIME, which is the deadline for the submission of the applications.

1. A cover letter in English in which the motivation in joining the internship programme is briefly stated together with any preference in the topical areas of the Centre of Excellence.
2. Scanned or electronic copies of degree certificates and any relevant certificates and qualifications (if applicable).
3. Verification letter from the Higher Education Institution that you are currently a student.
4. A brief Curriculum Vitae (including contact details).
