ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, a multi-industry group of companies active in the shipping, energy, information technology, real estate and logistic sectors, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team.

You will be reporting to: Accounting Supervisor
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our group finance team. As a member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve controls, and enhance the efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Timely posting of accounting entries using local accounting software and keep relevant supporting documentation
- Monitor Mydata requirements and perform all the relevant necessary actions through the accounting software and AADE
- Perform procedures regarding Fixed Assets (post purchases, run depreciation, depreciation check and reconciliation of Fixed assets Register to GL)
- Perform procedures regarding cash transactions (scheduling of payments, reconciliation of cash in hand, cash at banks and credit/debit cards to GL)
- Perform reconciliations with customers and suppliers on a regular basis, and reconciliation of various files to GL on a monthly basis
- Support to the preparation of the annual financial statements compliant with Greek statutory requirements
- Assist the implementation of financial systems and processes
- Support the preparation of all tax declarations and submission on time (VAT, withheld taxes, List of contracts, VIES, etc)
- Support the communications with Tax Authorities and General Commercial Register (GEMH)
- Manage ad hoc projects and active participation on all accounting activities, according to needs
Requirements
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Further relevant studies at a post-graduate level will be considered a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in Greek GAAP. ACCA or IFRS diploma will be considered as an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French will be an asset)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a similar role
- Working experience as a tax or statutory auditor will be considered a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Power Point) with advanced Excel skills is a must
